Sponge Cake Recipe




This is for Cindy

Sponge Cake

4 Large Eggs
120g Fin/castor Sugar
135g Self Raising Flour
50g Oil
50g Milk
½ tsp Vanilla Powder
½ tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Cream Of Tartar

1. Mix together egg yolks, half of the sugar, oil and milk in a bowl

2. Fold in Self Raising Flour, vanilla powder and baking soda

3. Whisk egg whites, the remaining sugar and cream of tartar until peak

4. Combine the above and bake in 9” round pan at 180C for 40 minutes

5. Leave to cool

Tips: Make sure the egg white is really at it peak form
Invert the pan when cooling
Make sure the pan is really dry. Do not put butter
Use fresh ingredient for good quality cake

Note: Sponge cake is used to make durian cake, blueberry cream cheese, yam cake etc

You are most welcome..post the picture of your cake ya. I tried this recipe 3x then only it got perfect so all the best.if you are in kk, would love to try it hahaha
