My three important files
(Sorry for the mess as I was also doing some spring cleaning in my office last month)
I did my yearly financial resolution every year. I started in 2004 without putting much thought in it until I saw the results of writing my resolutions on a paper in 2005. I made two wise and significant investment in 2005 as a results of making a resolution end of 2004. Since then, I have never failed to make a resolution list every year.If you have not started one, this is my best advice for you this year. Have a resolution written down on paper. Whatever it is, personal, financial, career, love life or whatever, you will benefit from it.
Let me share just a bit to you.
I believe all of you have a resolution. I had, have and still having them. Life is no meaning without one. ( you can also call resolution a dream)
To be more organized, get at least three new files and categorize them into these three;
1. FILE FOR YOUR RESOLUTION
2. FILE FOR YOUR INVESTMENT
3. FILE FOR YOUR DEBT/BILLS
p.s I'll post the investment and debt/bills file content much later
I divide my resolution in three categories.
MY RESOLUTION FILE
p.s I have more on my list. Here i will share some of them and i also have some for you to consider putting on your list.
1. Short Term Goal
Short term goal is a one year goal. This is valid for 2008 only. Example:
1. Start an education plan/saving for my baby. RM500/month
2. Improve my wedding cake making/decorating skills
3. Earn extra RM500 a month.
4. Reduce other debts. My car debt will soon end this February!!! yea..next moth.
My last three payments of my car loan
Other than that, examples of short term resolution are;
6. Save for RM200 a month for year end travel to
7. Learn a new skill like swimming, dancing etc
8. Buy a new car ( only if you don't have one)
9. Buy an apartment for investment
10. Start a family
2. Medium Term Goal ( 2-4 years)
1. Save RM1000 a month
2. Buy a new car
3. Buy another property
4. Bring my parents to
5. Write a book on cake decoration
Other medium term resolutions are;
6. Start a tuition class
7. Further study
8. Add another child to the family
3. Long Term Goal (5- 10 years)
1. Sell current house and build my dream house
2.
3. Change career
4. Buy a land or other property
Review your goal after 6 months. You will be surprised if some of your goals is already halfway achieved. Try it. It works for me and I am sure it will work for you too.
