For some breasfeeding is too hard to do and many give up to breast their baby/toddler. For me, I don't really have problem with breastfeeding but I become so good at it and now it's too hard to let go.
Last week, I follower farrah's method with asam jawa ( what is the traslation for this one?). I put it on both nipples. Sona sucks and quickly withdrawn. What she said next made me burst into laughter. She alsmost scream " ASAM!!!) That night everytime she wanted to nurse, she keep on saying, nenen mum asam till she slept. The sour taste may have gone in the morning as she can feed without stopping. The next day, I continue to feed her. I think I just don't have the heart to let her starve for breast milk. The following day, while she is about to nurse, I asked her " Nenem mum asam? , She quickly said " Not yet" and put her mouth in as fast as she could.
I failed in my first attempt.
Now, my mum force me to leave her with her for a week. I have bought her Sustagen and I know my mum always have soya bean for her. We will see if I can succeed in this second attempt. It's hard not to see her. This is our second day apart and I am not sure if both of us ( DH) can stand staying in an empty house without our girl..let's hope.
How did you all do it?

I heard some ppl used blended peria and put it on their nipple.
As for me, at abt 9mth old, I started supplementing Mia's BM intake with formula. I was shocked after abt 1 week, when I wanted to bf her, she would refuse.. I was caught by surprise as I wasn't ready to stop bfg her. I was soo sad. By 10mth, she was 100% on formula.. I guess if you start supplementing with formula (and Sona likes it), weaning would be much easier.. If she doesn't the formula, then susah sikit..
Hee..Chloe was bfing until she was almost 3. She only weaned when I brought her to the piano class. She suddenly felt so grown up! However, she only 'weaned' from formula bottle (she drinks from training bottle) early this year when she started Primary 1! I've never used tamarind (asam jawa translation ^_^) or anything else...I guess Eden will be like that too...
i had a hard time weaning avi off....i went insane cos she simply wouldnt let me go...talk about co-sleep..i can't even leave the bed un moved if she was asleep...
the only thing good that came out of it was..i didnt spend lots of money on formula...hihi..i used the wintermelon powder to put on my nipple when weaning avi off...and she knew how to wipe it off...
Weaning babies when they are younger is easier. My #1 was only 14months and it only took me 3 days. Sadly, he doesnt take milk from the bottle, and he is so kurus until now.
#2 is 20months and still fully breastfeeding. Sigh! I dont know how to wean him coz by now, he can understand a lot better. But I heard that as they get slightly older, they might stop bf on their own. (I heard that babies within 12-24months ada susah sikit. AFter that, better).
thanks Guys...am taking it slowly..now she only bf once a day..at least ada improvement
